ANSONIA: Mary “Mamie” Medeiros, 95, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, July 23, 2012, at Hilltop Health Center in Ansonia. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Medeiros. Mrs. Medeiros was born in Fall River, MA on December 28, 1916, daughter of the late Francisco and Emma Braga Ferreira. A resident of Ansonia since 1956, she was employed as a seamstress at the former Berger Brothers in Hamden until her retirement. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, where she enjoyed attending Adoration. She is survived by two loving sons, Anthony E. Medeiros and his wife Gail of Cheshire and Robert J. Medeiros and his wife Cari of Franklin Lakes, NJ, a loving daughter, Rosanne Schweitzer and her husband Dr. Carlos Schweitzer of Orange, a brother, Frank Ferreira of Hollywood, FL, cherished grandchildren, David Medeiros and his wife Melissa of Watertown, Andrea Abbamonte and her husband Christopher of S. Windsor, CT, David Medeiros of Washington, DC, Jennifer Medeiros of Seymour, Michael Medeiros of NJ, Mark Schweitzer of White Plains, NY and Paul Schweitzer of Manhattan, NY, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Ferreira and a sister, Rose Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday July 27, 2012, at 8:15 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
